Guide to Nantucket

August 26, 2016

Last month, my family and I traveled over to one of my favorite places for a family friend’s wedding. Nantucket is a little island off the coast of Massachusetts that is seriously one of the most idyllic & adorable places in the whole world! If you get the chance to go, make sure not to miss all the things listed below!

TO STAY:
Both Wauwinet and White Elephant are seriously stunning! The next time I go back to the island, I’ll definitely choose one of them for my stay.

TO EAT:
Breakfast
Downyflake – We only came for the donuts (hi coconut glaze) but the other side is a full on restaurant that I’ve heard is amaze as well!
Island Coffee – If you need a pick-me-up after your ferry ride over, this is your spot! I recommend the Chai.
Handlebar Cafe – This super cute cafe had some of the best espresso I’ve ever had. Seriously.
Lunch
Millie’s – Spend the day at Madaket beach and stop for lunch at Millie’s! It’s just one of those perfect lunch spots.
Provisions – An adorable little sandwhich spot that you definitely don’t want to miss.
Cru – Definitely one of the prettiest restaurants on the island! Go for lobster rolls and rose and watch the sun set over the wharf.
Dinner
Straight Wharf – Also on the wharf, this place has all the classics.
Proprieter’s – Super cute little restaurant in town, best to get a bunch of things and share family style!
Boarding House – I love any restaurant with a pretty patio so Boarding House had to make my list.
Dessert
Nantucket Juice Bar – Run, don’t walk, to Nantucket Juice Bar & be prepared to wait in line.

TO DO:
Sailing – Because you just can’t go to Nantucket and not go on a sail boat.
Shopping – There are so many adorable little shops on Nantucket that its hard to choose only a few but Skinny Dip Nantucket definitely tops my list.
Beach Driving – One of my favorite and “classic Nantucket” activities is to rent a jeep and go beach driving. You’ll have to let some air out of your tires before heading out on the sand and then you basically just drive along a practically empty beach until you find a spot that suits you! It’s seriously one of the coolest experiences, especially for a California girl who’s used to packed beaches.
Sconset – Walking around Sconset is like being in a dream. Every single house is dripping in flowers and some date back hundreds and hundreds of years (houses, not flowers lol).

xo, Linnea
